I found out that for the next couple of months I'll be training, but I can determine my hours. I have a set amount each year, and as long as I reserve enough for the seasonal work, then I can do what I want with the rest. For example, I can use the hours to train, attend applicable classes, do gardening, create new programs...cool!
On top of that, I got a desk with a window! My first desk job (outside my home) in which I get a window! A quick aside, for those of you that don't know, every desk job I've had has been in cavernous environments. I'm assuming that's why I'm so fair skinned! ;)
My boss is nice and so far has been reliable - two great combos! We work out of a converted home and share the area with the accounting staff. Everyone was friendly and kept wanting to make sure they pronounced my name correctly.
My next day of work is an employee lunch and then back to the office for training. I really hope things will continue to be as good as they seem!
