Virginia Wedding

We recently went to a wedding near Richmond, VA.  I had hoped the fall leaves would begin to turn color, but alas, we were there too soon.  Thankfully we are returning to VA in late October, so I'm hoping we'll have better luck.

The married couple, Katie and Thomas, are the daughter and son-in-law of our tailgating friends, Doris and Wayne.  For the past couple of years, we've been invited on their family beach vacations, so we've gotten to know the couple from that time spent together.

The wedding was in a remote location that had a barn, silo, and a large property.  It serves as a Montessori school when it isn't hosting large events, which I thought to be random until I learned that the school helps keep it's tuition costs low by subsidizing from events held at their barn.  Clever!

The barn was decorated beautifully inside with white lights and Katie and Thomas' wedding décor.  Here we are having just arrived.

The ceremony was located next to the silo, which served as the processional starting point for the bridal party.  Here is the happy couple newly married...

And the happy parents!

The reception was both inside the barn and under a tent that you can somewhat see in the picture below.

At night, everything was lit with white lights. We mostly just sat outside enjoying the weather and starry sky.  It was a wonderful wedding.

The next day we toured Richmond.  We were told to check out the canal district and that we did.  I only wish we could have spent more time there.
