This past weekend, Bradley, Kelsie, Matt and I went to Asheville for an overnight trip. We arrived at around lunch time and got the best Indian food I've ever had. Thankfully we decided to share everything so I could sample a lot!
We then went to the Biltmore Estates. The primary reason we went to Asheville was to see the current exhibit, Wedding Dresses in Film. Bradley ran across it and thought I'd love it given my backgrounds in film and weddings. He was correct because I did love it! And once you see the photos, I think you'll agree!
Each costume had a plaque describing the movie and a little about the wedding attire. The house was also decorated (as if for a wedding) which was absolutely spectacular!!!
A quick view of the backyard... wow!!!
We then visited the gardens and green house.
Where's Matt???
After Biltmore, we visited the new New Belgium Brewery that is off the river...
For the rest of the day we walked around the downtown, had dinner, and called it a night. The next day we visited the Sierra Nevada brewery/restaurant, but before we arrived, we may have gone and got a doughnut! But if you look next to it, you'll see I got a healthy side of milk! :-)
Our tour of Sierra Nevada was not a typical brewery tour. Instead, we went on a nature hike and learned about Sierra Nevada's suitability efforts, and how they use the land for farming, gardening, and welling water, while continuing to be an eco-friendly habitat for the surrounding wildlife.
But of course the tour had to end with a tasting or two!
We had a fantastic time... I hope we get to explore more areas together soon!
