Painting Party

I've been wanting to post these photos for the last couple months, but had to wait until the right time because it involved a gift for mom.

I went to a painting party with a friend and it was so much fun! You pay to attend the event and the facility provides each person with a canvas that's been pre-drawn with something (in this case poppy flowers), the paint, and an instructor to show everyone how to paint the picture. I loved that all levels of artists/non-artists could leave with a painting they did themselves.  As you'll see from the outcome photo below, no person had an awful painting.

Here is the example we were all trying to emulate.

Each of us started with this...

And then we were instructed step-by-step how to fill it in. We got to choose our own colors, which was a great outlet for some creativity. I only knew one person going into the party, but met some really nice ladies as we painted the night away.

My friend, Kelsie, is in the photo below (in the purple).

I can't remember if we had 2 or 3 hours, but it was amazing how fast it all went for a finished painting.

And here is the final product (and Mom's gift)!

Isn't fascinating to see all the different interpretations? I've noticed these events are popping up everywhere so if you get the opportunity to try it, I highly recommend it!
