Becoming An Artist

This past weekend I took a Beginning Watercolor class and it will continue for the next 3 Saturdays.  A while back my co-worker enrolled herself into this class and when she invited me to join her, I thought it was a great way for me to learn more about painting.

It's a very technical class.  It's going to take a lot of practice over the next month.  Hopefully I'll start to develop a talent for it! I also have homework. My first assignment is to develop a color palette similar to the photo shown below...

I also have to replicate the leaf shown below that my instructor did. While painting it she made it look so easy, but I know it will take me days to do it (and it will probably still not look as good!)
