We spent our last couple of CA days in Chico. It was our intention to eat our way through
the city, and we did not disappoint. The
moment we arrived into town, we went to Hula’s, Matt’s favorite
restaurant.
We then went to my favorite bakery about bought my favorite peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.
For the rest of the day we hung out with our friends Jen, Jeremy, and their daughters Julia and Jaelynn. It had been a couple years since my last trip to Chico (Matt visited last year) so this was our first time getting to know their daughters. In fact, Jaelynn was only 7 weeks, so this was our first time meeting her.
Since we were visiting Chico during graduation weekend, we couldn't stay at a hotel because every hotel room in the city was booked by the time we found out that we were going to CA. Thankfully Jen's photography studio also doubles as a studio apartment so we were able to stay there. Below is Julia giving me a tour (check out the shoes she is wearing that she found in the wardrobe closet). Too cute!
And here is Jaelynn - also a cutie!
Since the studio was close to an old favorite ice cream stop for us, we decided to sneak out and get a little treat from Big Al's.
The next day we went back to Jen and Jeremy's and went for a nice walk in the local park, Bidwell Park. We stopped at the playground and watched Julia play with Daddy.
Silly me, I forgot to get a family photo so here is Jen, Jeremy and Julia in a photo I found on Facebook.
Matt and I then headed over to Chico State to wander the campus and surprisingly it was abandoned. I guess by the time we visited all the students were off somewhere celebrating!
Before heading to the airport we visited our neighbors and friends Lori and Jeff, and their kids Logan and Kendall. Unfortunately the photos I took were all blurry, so I also stole a nice family photo of theirs off Facebook. We had an awesome visit with them. They had just moved into a new house that was the same layout as our old Chico home. It was such a trip to go on the tour of their house and know the exact layout before seeing it. I could actually picture where all my furniture was in our old house!
It was an awesome trip and thanks so all that made it so much fun!
