NY Trip

This past weekend, Mom and I took a mini-trip to NY to attend our Aunt Vera's 100 birthday party.  I think I shocked a lot of relatives when they realized that I was no longer 10 years old! :-)  But it was nice to get to know our family from an adult perspective.

It was so nice to see so many family members come to the party.  Below is Uncle Bob, Aunt Patty, Shari, Mom, and Aunt Vera.  The beautiful flowers were a gift from Grandpa.

Here is mom looking at photos of Aunt Vera.

A little slice of the party...

It was so weird to see a cake with triple digits!

Aunt Vera looks so much like Grandma.  It was so nice to see her and think about how wonderful it was to have Grandma in all of our lives.

This photo is of Aunt Vera and her son, Mark. While taking that photo, we were all singing her Happy Birthday!

This photo is of all the 1st cousins that were at the party.  I think Aunt Vera was quite touched to know how many were able to attend her party!

After the party, we then went to get white hots at a local favorite.  For my cousins, this restaurant was next to Char Broil.  I think it was just as good!

Then off to get some ice cream after...

Before heading home, we drove by Grandpa's first home.  I wish I had an original photo of it so I could post a before and after shot.

It was a fun trip and I really enjoyed getting to know my family better.  :-)
