Everybody's Working For The Weekend...

Because Matt bought this!

And did the lawn sure need it!!!  I think it has more branches and leaves on it than grass! The previous owner did not have a green thumb and thought he was doing us a favor by raking the leaves to the side of our yard (which is a hill, by the way). I convinced Matt to get a self-push mower and I think he's quite thankful for that decision!  And while Matt mowed the lawn, I trimmed all our hedges! I got to use the electric hedger for the first time and it was quite fun! (Side note - Matt is quite proud of his hedger because he bought it at a flea market and bargained it down from $5 to $3!) Oh that Matt and his negotiation skills! :)

We also tackled our first lawn project. We dug trenches along each side of our walkway to make room for flowers. We are going to plant purple pansies and pink snapdragons. It should add a lot of color and spruce up the yard since it's dormant right now and looks awful! Did I mention that the front yard is all Bermuda grass!?!  For those that don't know, Bermuda grass looks amazing in Spring and Summer, but like this for Fall and Winter...it's such an eye soar!

In this photo you can also see our trenches and one of the hedges I leveled - but from this angle, I think I need to square it off more in the front!

And these are the pretty flowers we will be planting!

After all that work for the weekend, we were exhausted!!!
