We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Matt and I not only celebrated the 4th, but it was also our 10 year anniversary! Matt got me some beautiful jewelry - a sapphire necklace and bracelet. I got him a new work bench. Such stereotypical gifts, but we are happy!!! :-)
The night before we saw Despicable Me - oh, so funny. If you haven't seen the 1st, may I suggest seeing it first because some of the humor won't be quite as funny without the context of the first movie.
As for the 4th itself, we went to a wonderful lunch with Mom and Dad - who were also celebrating their 44 year anniversary! We had lunch at a restaurant that was attached to the O'Henry Hotel, named after the American author who is known for many short stories including:
"The Gift of the Magi" about a young couple who are short of money but desperately want to buy each other Christmas gifts. Unbeknownst to Jim, Della sells her most valuable possession, her beautiful hair, in order to buy a platinum fob chain for Jim's watch; while unbeknownst to Della, Jim sells his own most valuable possession, his watch, to buy jeweled combs for Della's hair.
See, this blog is entertaining and educational! ;-) The lunch was delicious!
